OUR MISSION
Established in response to the need to address obesity and related co-morbid conditions as a major threat to public health, the Center for Obesity Research and Education (CORE) is a non-profit, virtual center at Queen’s University, that strives to:
* Be an education and information resource in the field of obesity for the communities we serve regionally and nationally;
* Raise public awareness about the problem of obesity and the risk of excess weight including options for management;
* Perform research and provide training about obesity and its management to allied health professionals in the community and academic settings;
* Participate in policy development at the municipal, provincial, and national levels.
OUR VISION
CORE aims to foster a spirit of inquiry in faculty and students; to create innovations in obesity research; and to produce, evaluate, and disseminate knowledge that leads to the improvement of obesity education and its delivery to Canadians.
OUR MEMBERS
CORE is comprised of 15 Council Members & 7 Advisory Board Members.
