Mission

The Center for Obesity Research and Education (CORE) at Queen’s University strives to:

  • Be an education and information resource in the field of obesity for the communities we serve regionally and nationally;
  • Raise public awareness about the problem of obesity and the risk of excess weight including options for management;
  • Perform research and provide training about obesity and its management to allied health professionals in the community and academic settings;
  • Participate in policy development at the municipal, provincial, and national levels.

Vision

CORE aims to foster a spirit of inquiry in faculty and students; to create innovations in obesity research; and to produce, evaluate, and disseminate knowledge that leads to the improvement of obesity education and its delivery to Canadians.
